CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

Stephen Boardman MBE DL, 4th Dan

Stephen has been training in the art of Taekwondo for 33 years, 23 of those years as an Instructor. Initially training in traditional ITF Taekwondo (Ch'ang Hon), he went on train extensively in WTF (now known as World Taekwondo or WT), which is an Olympic sport.  He holds 4th Degree Black Belt grades in both styles. His Kukkiwon registration is 05788657.

His original Dan Grade examiner, Grandmaster Paul Liversidge 9th Dan, remains his mentor, advisor and close friend.

In his 23 years' coaching career, Stephen has guided and helped develop many students aged 4 to 60+ years to achieve their goals in both Ch'ang Hon and WT. He is passionate about promoting diversity, equality and inclusivity through the practice of Taekwondo.

A former British Army Officer, Stephen has also had the privilege to teach military personnel, both in the UK and whilst on Active Service overseas.

Honoured with the award of an MBE in 2009 for his efforts during Operational service, he was further honoured in 2014 with a commission as a Deputy Lieutenant in West Yorkshire for services to the community.
